Simulating the growing boundary layer
This video demonstrates an LES simulation of an idealized situation of boundary layer growth. As the earth warms up, warm air rises to form a boundary layer of well mixed air in the lower part of the atmosphere. As this warming continues, air might rise high enough to reach it's saturation point, such that clouds form.
